Four-legged guests are very welcome
Camping with dogs
A fenced dog meadow with no lead rule, a dog beach just over the dyke, and dog showers at the sanitary buildings.
The dog comes tooand gets to run free
The fenced dog meadow is right next to the car park. Your dog can come off the lead there, and the fence is high enough that even one with an unreliable recall doesn't suddenly disappear. On the rest of the site dogs stay on the lead.
The dog beach is over the dyke towards Bojendorf, a stretch along the water. It is signposted, and dogs are allowed in the sea there. Outside it, Schleswig-Holstein requires dogs on the lead in open countryside from April to mid-July, because that is when ground-nesting birds are sitting in the grass.
Back at the site there are dog showers at the sanitary buildings. After the beach that is not cosmetic: salt and sand in the coat otherwise end up in the caravan and, by evening, in the bed.

What's here for dogsthe good bits

Freedom on the dog beach
Over the dyke towards Bojendorf, signposted. Dogs may go in the water there and don't have to stay on the lead. The ground is shingle rather than sand, as it is everywhere here, which matters for sensitive paws.
Dog meadow, no lead
Fenced, right by the car park, no lead rule. Big enough that two dogs can keep out of each other's way if they don't get along.
Dog showers
At the sanitary buildings, fitted at dog height. For salt, sand and whatever else a dog finds along the way.
